World Book day

We have started Lent and made our Lenten Promises. We do not give up chocolate this year, as it is very unrealistic in our family, and I wanted something more meaningful, something that make you think how you can really make changes to help others around you. We'll see how this goes and how far we'll go! In the meantime, we had World Book day and my lot came to school as Mary Poppins and Captain Hook. Sixtine's outfit is made from scratch, bits and pieces but I think she looked stunning as Mary Poppins and was so much into her... [Lire la suite]

We are a bit crazy or unconscious, I am not sure... But we made it last minute to be in Dubai for our dear friend's 40th bday!  We can say that we are bery blessed to have such amazing parents from our school that happily looked after Sixtine - and Charles (2 different families)!  Joséphine happily came along and flew a long-haul for the first time at 6 weeks old! (Our record)! We had an amzing w/e, it was very special to be able to be  there for our friend, and such nice memories for us to be in the Middle East, from... [Lire la suite]

Deo Gratias!

Joséphine is born on January, 18th!  What a blessing, this child is absolutely perfect in every possible way, and we cannot help watching her for hours. It already feels like she has always been in our family! The kids are thrilled and so happy to see her when they come back from school, and Rod took two weeks paternity leave, which is something I never thought he would do. We had a great time when he was off and it was lovely to have some time just the 3 of us when the kids were in school to bound with the baby. We felt like a... [Lire la suite]

Getting ready

Little by little, I am getting ready to welcome Brioche... I am already 39 weeks, quite impossible to believe for me! I finally decided to get out the moses basket, get a new tiny mattress, wash the sheets and the tiny 1 month 2 pyjamas I have (one baby pink and one baby blue) that I kept from S & C. I had to buy a few bodysuits and to be honest, even if everything is 50% off, I didn't buy much, as there is not much you can buy when you don't know the gender, everything is either pink or blue, cars/trains or flowers....etc... I... [Lire la suite]

5 janvier 2014: Happy 6 !

2014 and all the exciting things coming and the new resolutions... But mainly, each new year for us starts with a very important birthday! This year, a pirate birthday party was my little nearly big boy's request.  2008: after only a couple of months in London where we were still settling in, had no friends, and I was still struggling to understand how everything worked, my baby boy arrived. Many family and friends came in the hope of meeting you, but they went back home with no luck as you were feeling so cosy and warm in... [Lire la suite]

It is the best time of the year!

December is the best time of the year, isn't it? It is the time when we are awaiting for this magical time: Christmas! There is the xmas carols and mulled wine, there is the xmas nativities and plays, the pantomime -this year we went to see "Puss in Boots" in Hackney theatre- the xmas shopping, the xmas parties, especially the girls xmas dinner that I organise every year with some of my French girlfriends from our beloved school. This year was good fun as usual, and it is funny as there is always one of us not able to drink as she... [Lire la suite]

We believe...

First we believe in Nashville, where we have been welcomed like no where else. We had 5 days with our favourite American family, our very very dear and very special friends. It was such a blessing to be able to share their everyday life! We went to a pumpkin patch and Fayre, had hayrides, drunk sweet tea and apple cider, ate Southern food and grilled marshmallows on stick in the fire. We played games, we shared stories and traditions from our countries. Good fun was had by all!       Then, we believe in NYC,... [Lire la suite]

Turning 7

How come my little baby princess is already 7? When she was born, it felt like she would be my tiny baby in my arms forever, that I could protect her from the outside world forever. I guess when you become a mum for the first time, you don't know what to expect and your center of attention is focus on your child being a baby. But as she grew up, I grew up as well, having another child, facing adversity of life, jobloss, moving countries, making new friends, losing old friends, questioning myself about the meaning of life and the... I feel very lucky that my hubby still organises surprises for my birthday after 11 years spent together.... This one was very special, very romantic and perfectly organised! We were lucky enough to have close friends that offered to look after the kids for the whole w/e so we could have a special time just the 2 and 1/2 of us;-) We did lots lots of walking, lots of eating really amazing italian food, lots of visiting and a lot of chatting!
